Community of Practice
The Community of Practice is a way for representatives from each lab to come together every other month to share best practices, learn from each other, build peer-to-peer accountability, problem solve, innovate, test out ideas and strategies, and identify consistent themes across the department. The Community of Practice is open to anyone—multiple members of your lab attend.
This community serves as an ongoing learning hub for diversity, equity, inclusion and justice work. We will share the work we are doing towards department goals as well as articles, emerging research, and practices that other labs have adopted. The goal is to ensure open lines of communication across the department about issues that may evolve and shift over time.
This Community of Practice can provide recommendations to the BCS Associate Department Head for DEIJ, DEIJ Officer and/or the DEIJ community for further consideration and/or action. They will also receive updates and recommendations from BCS leadership to share and implement back within their labs.
