Access to Building 46
To the Building 46 community,
Over the last week we have been working with administrators and investigators to develop plans for scaling down research activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those plans are now in place, and they achieve the stated goals of preserving essential functions while reducing the building to about 12% of its usual occupancy.
In the process we have identified a core group of 85 people who have been designated to be on-site to maintain animals and other essential research tools.
This group of 85 will receive an additional email with more information. If you are not part of this group, it is essential that you stay away from the building.
We appreciate the difficulties this has, and will continue to pose. Limiting the density of people and the number of people going back and forth to campus are important to reducing the spread of COVID-19. We commend each of you for the swift action already taken and very much appreciate your ongoing cooperation.
Our best regards,
Jim DiCarlo, Department Head, BCS
Li-Huei Tsai, Director, PILM
Bob Desimone, Director, MIBR
